Pinon Pines Mutual Water Company has deemed it necessary to implement conservation
measures due to drought conditions recorded in our watershed.

Conservation Measures Enacted as of 7/1/2021:
Level 1: Conservation Necessary (elimination of non-essential or unauthorized uses): These conservation
measures are voluntary and may be immediately implemented as described in article XVIII of the company’s
bylaws.
A. Use of potable water for washing vehicles, boats, buildings, construction cleanup, dust control, or similar
uses without a hose fitted with an automatic shutoff nozzle or similar device is prohibited. However, use of a
bucket for vehicle and boat washing is permitted subject to non-wasteful applications.
B. Use of potable water to clean buildings, decks or privately owned paved surfaces without a hose fitted with
an automatic shutoff nozzle or similar device is prohibited.
C. Use of potable water to clean community streets, parking lots and similar community uses is prohibited
except to protect the public health and safety as determined by Pinon Pines Mutual Water Company. When
approved by the water company, such uses may be accomplished solely by Pinon Pines Estates Home Owners
Association or its contractor and shall be coordinated in advance with Pinon Pines Mutual Water Company.
D. Use of potable water which results in flooding or runoff in gutters, waterways, patios, driveways, or
streets is prohibited.
E. Outdoor Irrigation:
i. Outdoor irrigation will be prohibited between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
ii. Irrigation of private and public landscaping, turf areas and gardens will be permitted at even-numbered
addresses only on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays and odd-numbered addresses on Tuesdays Thursdays,
and Saturdays.
iii. All shareholders are directed to use no more water than necessary to maintain landscaping.
F. Allowing a leak to continue more than 5 days after the water company has notified the responsible party in
writing is prohibited.
